How We Teach
APU International School provides a true American education to Vietnamese and international students in Vietnam. Because APU International School is MOET-approved, we are able to not only provide an American curriculum but also teach the courses within that curriculum through English-only instruction to students holding Vietnamese citizenship.
Our aim in providing this program is to emulate the more than 20,000 high schools in the US through a combination of academic, extracurricular, counseling, and disciplinary programs that will mold students who are well-adapted to the American educational system.
At APU International School, we seek to provide students with a solid academic foundation and the cultural awareness necessary for university studies in the United States. In order to achieve these objectives, the middle and high school curricula at the school not only stress academics that mirror middle and high school programs in the US but also engage students in contexts relevant to American culture.
Students are required to complete eight semesters consisting of 24 course credits. These credits must be fulfilled through a combination of specific courses within the core subjects of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science as well as additional courses within select subjects and elective courses.
