How We Teach

That which is known to our intellect initially comes to us through our senses. At APU International Elementary School (IES), sensorial learning accompanied by play is encouraged in the early childhood years. We move towards teaching abstract concepts only when it is suitable in the child’s development.

At APU IES, all subjects are interwoven, reflecting our premise that the classroom should serve as a microcosm of the world, where nothing truly exists in isolation. In this view, elementary school teachers act as Renaissance scholars—educators possessing a large spectrum of knowledge who transmit their passion for learning to students.

We appreciate the unique personality of each student and uphold the idea that it is the teacher’s responsibility to foster individuality in children. Our educators affirm the efforts of the children, encourage their individuality, and assist them in developing the self-confidence necessary to succeed in the world as young adults.
